In my work as a marketing consultant in the broadcasting industry, I have collaborated with countless business people who recognize that there is opportunity to market their business or personal creative interests (hobbies, etc) online, but feel completely overwhelmed in terms of knowing where to start. Whether it’s building a website and what should go on it or understanding social media, how to post or how to advertise and what is the difference between all of the various platforms… so many people decide not to try in the first place because it all seems so overwhelming.
I can most definitely relate. In fact, many years ago, I had created a couple of sites on my own and learned a lot just through trial and error. I was at least creating content and sharing it online but I did not have much strategy behind me and I certainly didn’t have any level of coaching on a consistent basis. I knew about email marketing and had long ago grasped the basics of certain social media options, but it always felt like trying to aim at a moving target, being tossed around in a little dinghy on the vast ocean of online opportunity. It felt to me like a major mystery that other people had solved and I was destined not to ever really know about.
What Led Me To Wealthy Affiliate?
I actually found my way to Wealthy Affiliate while I was researching another program that I was thinking about buying. I had never heard of Wealthy Affiliate to that point and while my initial research seemed promising, I was skeptical. I took many days to decide before even opening a free Starter Member account. But once I did, in June of 2016, I was immediately convinced that I was in the right place.
I was, and remain, astounded at the volume of resources and training available to me at all times. I have yet to have a question of mine go unanswered and have met and collaborated with all kinds of creative, kind, and encouraging people from all around the world who are all working on their own dreams and passions while support others in their efforts to do the same. It’s a wonderful environment to be a part of.
A very short time after I began my Starter Membership, I was convinced that I was going to be a part of the community for a long time and happily made the choice to upgrade to a Premium account. I ended up moving my domains and my entire web sites – both this one and the site for my rock & roll bucket list project, Mutineer – to be hosted at Wealthy Affiliate, where they offer all the support, security, back up, tools and resources I could ever want at this stage of my development.
