About the song: Laugh if you like, but this song was born from watching “Dog the Bounty Hunter.” In the TV show, Dog ruthlessly hunts down fugitives. But once they’re caught, he has a unique way of mercy about him. He realizes that we all have a story. We all are children to someone. And we all deserve the chance to make our lives right (whatever that means). I believe that, at times, we are our own worst enemies. And I pray we overcome “our own machine.”

Lyrics:

I can see you there in the one place you can’t stand to be
And you stand alone ‘cause that’s always come so easily
When a good heart falls it’ll leave the space for dust and weeds
I can see your spirit still, but your spirit bleeds

I pray your soul is strong enough to breathe
And I pray we overcome our own machine
Sometimes things are exactly as they seem
Sometimes things are exactly as they seem

I don’t know what happened but I see your heart has lost its way
In a solitary state of fear and disarray
In bitter place where you stand and fight, or turn your back
I can see your spirit still, and it can still come back

I pray your soul is strong enough to breathe
And I pray we overcome our own machine
Sometimes things are exactly as they seem
Sometimes things are exactly as they seem

Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah

I pray your soul is strong enough to breathe
And I pray we overcome our own machine
Sometimes things are exactly as they seem
Sometimes things are exactly as they seem

Hallelujah
