About the song: Written prior to a trip to Myrtle Beach at a time when I was feeling particularly overwhelmed with new work-related responsibilities. This song is an autobiographical plea for peace of mind.

Lyrics:

When infinite’s asking for a new ETA
An end seemingly near just moved further away

When the road starts to wind and the list becomes long
There are mountains to climb and more weight to take on
And you reach for your chance before time moves along
‘Cause it’s suddenly gone …

For just a moment’s peace I hope South Carolina can help heal my mind
For just a moment, please, South Carolina
South Carolina

We can only know value from what the mind wants to choose
Without some perceived gain, there is little to lose

Because all that we are becomes all we will be
And soon all that we want becomes all we can see
Amid mazes of concrete, men and machine
We crave clarity

For just a moment’s peace I hope South Carolina can help heal my mind
For just a moment, please, South Carolina
South Carolina

When simplicity talks, we are prone to mistake
‘Cause complexity knows that it’s taken on faith

For just a moment’s peace I hope South Carolina can help heal my mind
For just a moment, please, South Carolina
South Carolina
