Looking at the photos on this page, you’d never know that my confidence was absolutely shot about 6 weeks ago.
I’d worked myself too hard for too long, lost my perspective, became very bitter … and burned out.
It’s just the truth.
But here’s what I’m learning:
There’s a reason they’re called “growing pains.”
I’m finding that my biggest growth – the biggest breakthroughs – come through contrast. In other words, when our emotions are telling us that we are clearly identifying what we DON’T want, they’re also helping us identify and line up with what we DO want, and who we really are.
I guess the question then becomes, “Once we’re clear on who we really are, do we actually have enough guts to BE that person and see that path through all the way?”
That may sound like a big leap, but my experience has been that the difference lies in a lot of very subtle little moments of choice that happen many times a day, every day, day after day.
Confront those choices, one-by-one, and the momentum starts to turn.
Ignore them, and life chooses for us.
But here’s the thing, which you’ll know if you’re exploring this:
It takes courage to even acknowledge that those little moment-to-moment choices exist, let alone try to confront and re-script them.
It takes guts.
And it takes a willingness to endure through setbacks.
So, I figure, it really helps to have encouragement and support. And when I look around at photos like these (thank you, Melissa Price!!!!) from last night, here’s what I see:
Progress.
Support.
Encouragement.
Love.
Appreciation.
Genuineness.
Passion.
Fire.
Creativity.
And here’s what else I see:
When we’re true to who we really are and go with our hearts, good people will find us, go with us, encourage us and support us, just as we’ll support them.
If you’re in this area, come to a momondays London event and see what I mean. I can promise you I will give you absolutely everything I have.
And if you’re not in this area, buy me a plane ticket and bring me to you.
For the first time in my life I believe I’m ready to acknowledge:
I’m worth it.
And so are you.
Much love ❤️
