Podcast interview on finding the courage to tell your own story.
Katie Kozlowski knows about the journey of finding the courage. Katie has joined me on the show before, back in Episode 40, “Learning to Love Yourself.” In that episode, almost exactly a year ago, Katie shared a powerful – and very personal – story about how so many of us start out so happy and free but end up lost. She also talked about the consequences of the unconscious cruelty we inflict on ourselves and others when we’re not in touch with who we really are.
In this episode, we looked closer at finding the courage for all those things. For example, do you have the courage it takes to tell your own story, in your own way?
That sounds a lot easier than it is. But Katie’s story will help you with it.

Katie is a spiritual teacher, self-realization coach and healer (although she more recently has been referring to herself as a “Wizard,” which I think is a great term!).
Katie can now add “author” to that list, as she has contributed a chapter to a book called, “Simply…Woman: Stories from 30 Magnificent Women Who have Risen Against The Odds,” due to be released on International Women’s Day on March 8, 2018.
In this episode, Katie takes us into the process of finding the courage to tell her own story in her own way and how she chose to contribute to the book with a chapter called, “The Princess And The Prisoner.”
I always enjoy taking with Katie and this was no exception. The further I go down the road of truly exploring authenticity and notion that each of us has our own unique voice and role to play, the more convinced I become that it is the true – perhaps only – path to lasting fulfillment. Speaking with Katie always gets me thinking and reflecting upon my own experience, and I’m betting it will do the same for you, too.
Some highlights that stood out from the discussion with Katie included:
~ Trying to figure out what might sell as opposed to what you really want to create (a deceptively easy trap).
~ The power of imagination and storytelling (how we used to teach).
~ Why it takes so much courage to tell your story.
